FACILITATORS
Hey there, I’m DK, the founder of MediaSnackers—nice to e-meet you.
MediaSnackers was launched in June 2006 with my educational background in communications and media, plus a professional background in local government (I was the UK’s first and only Corporate Youth Officer… oooh!)—I’ve done lots of things and had many roles, but my passion for working with young people (and youth professionals) has been my main focus for the past 8 years.

As an educator, journalist, media producer and trainer, the goal of Antonio López is to bridge worlds—mental, cultural, ecological and technological. López is founder of World Bridger Media and an expert of media, culture, Native American and Latino issues. He designed the groundbreaking culturally specific media and health CDROM, Merchants of Culture, and has authored hundreds of articles.
He contributed to the MacArthur Foundation's six book series, Digital Learning in the 21st Century, and his book on media education, Mediacology, will be out in April 2008. His groundbreaking workshops focus on digital media production as a powerful tool for prevention, advocacy and sustainability. López holds an MA in Media Studies from the New School University and a PhD from the School of Punk Rock.

Chris Schuepp, a national of Germany, studied Journalism at the University of Dortmund and worked for radio and TV stations in Germany. In 2000, he moved to Kyrgyzstan, where he worked as Country Director for Internews Network, supporting independent journalists in Central Asia.
Since 2002, Schuepp has been the coordinator or the Young People's Media Network in Europe & Central Asia—a project supported by UNICEF. The YPMN encourages youth participation in the media and actively supports the children's rights to access to media and freedom of expression.
The YPMN has facilitated more than 25 workshops over the past years, mainly on the production of OneMinuteJr videos, 60-second films produced by young people on topics of their choice. Many of these videos focus on the children’s problems: violence, neglect, social exclusion, drugs, HIV/AIDS, etc.
The YPMN also runs the UNICEF VOY youth media pages.
