Riffing on the approach to take with this social media stuff.

(GBR) After keynoting the second day of the Shift Happen 2.0 Conference the other month, I was interviewed by lovely guy named Ian Aspin. This week the resulting video appeared on his Really Good Thinking blog.

Even though the context of the questions was around arts and cultural organisations, the answers I gave can be transferable across all sectors and industries:

Thanks Ian.

Cyfle Training

cyfle

Lovely Scrummy training.

(WAL) We're in Cardiff at the funky offices of Cyfle, a training company for the Welsh Television, Film and Interactive Media Industry (amongst other things).

After a little orientation session with them last week we're back delivering a days training.

An excellent day of inspirational training! MediaSnackers delivered an energetic and challenging itinerary of knowledge share via creative missions that enabled Cyfle staff to fully interact with the exciting world of Social Media, whilst demonstrating the simplicity of digital tools to create stories to tell the world.

myguide

Doing what it says on the tin.

(GBR/WORLD) The UK government has announced the launch of myguide, a free and easy-to-use tool to help parents and carers catch up with their children when it comes to the Internet.

There's some great videos on there detailing first hand accounts of the value and benefit of using computers and the internet for first time users. It also offer clear pathways into their courses if people are interested.

The tone is a little juvenile although when we first launched MediaSnackers we focussed our work on young people, now nearly all our work is with adults as that's where the knowledge vacuum is.

Launching the new resource, Children's Minister Delyth Morgan said:

Today's generation of children and young people are often much more computer savvy than their parents, something that can be of great concern as mums, dads and carers look to keep their children safe online without restricting their enthusiasm for and exploration of the Internet.

New Product & Service Offering

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Branching out.

(WORLD) We're working hard on two new servings here at MediaSnackers, ready for launch mid-Autumn—one is a fresh new service and the other is a product:

New Service

This will compliment the current training and consulting menu, although will be focussed to a specific type of clientele with a more personalised service.

There are only a handful of people we can see doing this (in the world) and we think we can add a new flavoured offering to the mix.

New Product

We're writing a book.

Kicking it old school, sort of.

It draws directly from our experience of working with a cross-sector client-base, offering insights and perspectives into the heart of social media understanding and delivery… with a twist of course.

You’ll be able to read it online plus purchase an ebook/pdf and/or a paper copy.

So what?

Well, we like to think you might be interested in what we’re planning. So we’re just giving you the headsup… any questions, plonk them in the comments or contact us direct.

The Web Makes Me Feel

The winning entry from nearly 500.

Congratulations to Lucy, who became the proud owner of ‘The Web Makes Me Feel‘ engraved iPod Touch for her entry below.

A deserved winner we feel because the response reflects our stance on the Internet and using Social Media: sharing the knowledge you have to help others.

Lucy had this to say after receiving her iPod:

I can’t believe I won. I’m so happy. My friends will be so jealous.

Well done Lucy, from all at MediaSnackers we hope you enjoy your little gift!
