Nottingham Cultural Offer Part 1

nottingham

Helping a city.

(GBR) MediaSnackers is meeting today with the Nottingham Cultural Consortium, a group of leading arts & cultural bodies/organisations to assist in the development of their online gateway to promote the citys’ cultural offer.

Nottingham has a wonderfully vibrant cultural scene but up until now there is no single resource for listings which exists like in other cities. We’ll be helping them develop one using social media…

Not too many details at this time although we will of course keep you updated here as it’s going to be an ongoing project for us.

Good session with lots more discussion to be had. We’re on the cusp of something unique and exciting. Just to repeat my own mantra, I think we need to think outcomes not outputs. Less listings and more stories I think…

Some top comments yesterday in the short discussion which I’ll add to the wiki.

Sounds very interesting, I’m currently developing a project to develop a blog to promote Nottingham creative/cultural/digital scene based on the Created In Birmingham model. Please keep me update with your project.

  6. DK Says:

Will do Susi – keep an eye on the blog and my twitter account for further updates :-)

Hi – will be interesting to see what comes from this. How are you planning to share activity feeds? Google calendars?

You will have seen no doubt, that Nottingham City Council have a new web2.0 site – http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/

  9. DK Says:

Thanks for the comment and interest Stevie (yes to the new city council website).

We’re at the very early stages of this so forgive the lack of details, we’ll be assisting them to formulate a brand new ‘online gateway’ specifically for their arts & cultural offerings, utilising and linking to other social media platforms… what it won’t be is a listings site – sorry I can’t say anymore at this stage – it’s a ‘watch this space’ kind of deal ;-)

  10. Chris Says:

    Aw, thanks Matt!

Really interested to see what you guys are involved with here, hope the project goes well.
