S4C Internal Masterclass

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Sianel Pedwar Cymru.

(WAL) Today I’m delivering an internal masterclass session for the guys at S4C—the Welsh language channel.

Attending will be officers from Business Affairs, Commissioning, Legal, Marketing and Press, Research plus the Web team. My session kicks off a series of internal ‘myth-busting’ seminars.

We asked MediaSnackers to open our eyes to what’s out there on the web, and highlight the opportunities we’re missing out on. Response to DK’s session has been great—the pace was fast and exciting, the group was energised and enthused, and it’s served well to trigger debate about taking different approaches to communicating and networking. We’re now working on how we can integrate the opportunities into our planning processes… and looking forward to maximising the potential of the media across the full scope of our work.

2008 Review

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Short review and forward focusses.

(WORLD) That time again when we reflect back on the year and focus on all the new opportunities and possibilities of the one coming.

2008 was a mammoth year for us because we:

  • developed and delivered Pacific Youth: pro bono five week bespoke online social media training course for two groups of youth leaders from Papua New Guinea and Tonga

  • started podcasting again plus became the producer of the Rezed podcasts with our NYC-based partners, Global Kids

  • continued our vodcasting series

  • had opportunities to keynote, speak and deliver masterclasses at loads of conference and events in several countries (Speaking list)

  • grew the family with our recruitment drive

  • inspired the first, second and third statutory youth workers to blog before we even launched our campaign

  • celebrated our second birthday

  • developed, trained and project-managed the digital journalist aspect of Street Athletics 08 (which took in twenty or so locations around the UK plus a trip to Paris)

  • delivered our social media courses to teachers, youth workers, charitable sector professionals, marketeers, young people, strategic heads, arts/theatre venues, sports practitioners, music organisations, government officials etc.

  • signed an international partnership aggrement with our funky new youth marketing friends, JuniorSenior

  • used social media in innovative ways for our theatre client and their youth production, Proper Clever

  • grew our consulting experience and client base

  • redesigned and redeveloped our new website

…and 2009 will hopefully be even better because we’ll:

  • focus more on developing our consulting services, where training becomes part of what we deliver rather than the only thing (holistic approach)

  • expand our service offerings and evolve into events and products

  • continue to make kicking ass the cornerstone of what we do

Going to be fun…
