(GBR) Caught this announcement on the Guardians' Joe Public Blog this morning; they are going to be publishing a series of blogs by young people from around the country from 15 to 21 November for National Youth Week.
Without this democratic participation in our media, our young people are likely to fall victim to misrepresentation—and society will bear the cost of that informational breakdown through stereotypes and discrimination.
It's time for adults like us to step back, and hand the stage over to the real experts in youth affairs: young people themselves.
Great to see the older media institutions featuring young people in a positive and prosocial way (especially in light of this new Barnardos research about the publics perception of young people). Lets hope more follow suit and more importantly, maybe for more than just one week…?
