It’s scary but true.
(WORLD) Here at MediaSnackers we get a lot of emails and calls asking how to engage young people through new media and technology. Our first question is 'why?' and more often than not it's to do with a consultation event/strategy the brand/organisation/group is currently developing.
At the last couple of speaking gigs we’ve delivered, a little mantra has slipped into our presentation which we always share with said inquirer:
Consultation is dead!
Conversation is king!
Whether you're talking about designing a skatepark, developing a civic engagement programme, building a school, promoting a new mobile phone, launching a 10 year participation strategy, raising the profile of an entrepreneur initiative—no matter what it is, new media and technology augments the conversation you should be having with young people (another words, two-way and on-going).
