Introducing Hanna.
(GBR) MediaSnackers will be at this years Showcomotion Children’s Media Festival training up some young poeple to be digital journalists for the event. Let’s meet them:
Hello, my name is Hanna and I am currently in the second year of a Communications Studies Degree at Sheffield Hallam University. I was born in Northampton and have two sisters, Amy who is 22 years old and Eleanor who is 16 years old. My parents are both teachers and stayed in Northampton after they left College. In 1993 we moved to Nottingham to live in the village of Woodborough, four miles outside of the city centre. I attended the village Primary School until 1998 and then moved to Colonel Frank Seely School where I stayed until 2005. I really enjoyed my time at secondary school and had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities including gaining a silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. In my final year I was chosen by my fellow students to be the Deputy Head Girl, a real honour and privilege. I left the school with 11 GCSEs graded A*-C, three A levels in English, Media and Biology and an AS level in German.
I have a real passion for dancing. Since the age of three I have been studying ballet and from the age of twelve, Spanish and modern dancing. During this time I have taken part in a number of competitions and shows. I have performed at the Co-operative Arts Theatre, Theatre Royal and Playhouse in Nottingham and a number of venues in London. I have also achieved the full range of qualifications in ballet from primary to grade eight, receiving distinctions and highly commended certificates from the examiners. My other interests include reading, watching films, going to the gym and socialising with my friends.
I am very pleased to have the opportunity to be part of this Conference. I am keen to gain work experience in the area of journalism and public relations to find out what it is really like to work in these areas having studied the theoretical applications at University. I am also looking forward to this experience, as I believe it will help me to make a decision about my future career. I am a hard working, energetic, reliable and conscientious person capable of working on my own initiative and as part of a team. I am really looking forward to the Conference and hope to learn a great deal from it.
